Live 'N' Louder

Twenty years after the entrance of Brazil in the circuit of the great tours, with the accomplishment of the first edition of the "Rock in Rio", in January of 1985, with famous international bands of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock, the country will revive the feeling to have an openair festival again. We will have the accomplishment of "Live N ' Louder Fest Rock" on 12th of October, the stadium Osvaldo Teixeira Duarte "Canindé" (Portuguese Association of Sports), in São Paulo (SP).


"Brazil needed a new event, therefore with the end of our ' Monsters Of Rock ' which had 3 editions in São Paulo, the fans of Heavy Metal had been orphans of a great festival. A country that today is obligatory route of international Heavy Metal bands, has to have its own festival as well as each country in Europe", say the promoter of shows Paulo Baron.

In the years the 60 festivals of music that had been registered in history had been of Record Net and TV Excelsior. However, after the accomplishment of the "Woodstock" in the United States, the fans of Rock in Brazil had an enormous barrier to transpose: the dictatorship. The ditatorial regimen of the president Emilio Garrastazu Médici hindered the accomplishment of the "Festival of the Spring", that it would happen in November of 1969.

In the decade of 70 festivals only with Brazilian Rock groups had been organized, like the first "Hollywood Rock", in January of 1975, in Rio De Janeiro (RIO DE JANEIRO), which it had in the casting participation of Tutti Frutti, Velvet, the Mutants, O Peso, Vímana, O Terço, Raul Seixas, and others. At the same time the "Clear Water Festival", happened in the Virginia Saint Farm, Lacanga, the suburb of São Paulo, and that it was knewn as the "Brazilian Woodstock", with the presence of bands like Sound Ours of Each Day, Perpetual Motion, Rock of the Shroud and O Terço.

However, the first edition of "Rock in Rio" was the starting point so that many young initiated their lifes in the world of "heavy music". Until then, international attractions of Brazilian Rock in ground were sporadical and only some international bands had enjoyed the enchantments of our country, between them Queen (1981), Van Halen (1983) and Kiss (1983), beyond the almost miraculous coming of the Alice Cooper Group, in 1974.
"the importance of the 'Rock in Rio' was enormous for the development of music in general and the Heavy Metal in the country. We had the presence of bands who were in the height and keeps until today like Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Whitesnake and the Scorpions that now returns to Brazil being to headliner of Live 'n' Louder ”, explains one of the promoters of the event, Pablo Baron.

After the "Rock in Rio", several other mega-events had been carried through in the country, always with Heavy Metal bands, Hard Rock bands and Rock in general: "Hollywood Rock", "M2000 Summer Concerts", "Skol Rock" and the "Monsters Of Rock". However, with the followed financial crises that had always devastated the country and support the events without heavy metal, the fans of Heavy Metal had lost the possibility to see diverse international bands together to the Brazilian bands. Much even so is notable the growth of festivals and other internal events of Rock and Heavy Metal, as traditional "Brasil Metal Union", "Porão do Rock", "Extreme Metal Fest", "ForCaos", "April Pro Rock", "Setembro Negro", "Roça N ' Roll" and many others, "Live ' N ' Louder" arrives to fill the gap left for the "Monsters Of Rock", that it had became itself a tradition.


Primal Fear

The first edition of the festival had the following bands: Scorpions, Therion, Poison the Well, Nightwish, Destruction, Rage, The 69 Eyes, Shaaman, Dr. Sin, Tuatha de Danann and Toccata Magna. For more info about the festival, visit: www.livenlouder.com

The second edition of Live N’ Louder Rock Fest already its name consolidated in Brazil and México, had once again big names of the world rock/metal scene. David Lee Roth (Van Halen), Stratovarius, André Matos, Sepultura, Nevermore, Doro, After Forever, Primal Fear, Gotthard, Mindflow e Massacration. It were more than 14 hours of shows at Anhembi which was a mark at the rock/metal history.
